9.18.09 -- Marys

I have a tendency to forget what’s in my home. I’m so used to all the clutter and various keepsakes that it’s only when someone enters that I start noticing things that have blended into the background.

I studied Byzantine Art, specifically icon paintings, in graduate school. I had a friend interpret this as my interest in Mary and “scary” Christ items (his words). This caused him to pick up various things for me, some in keeping with what I was studying, others not so much. I’m so used to them being there that it would be strange if I suddenly cleared them all out.
