I'm in a funk and need to get out. I have no problem watching a movie a day, but find it more and more difficult to get my video projects done. Work or scheduling issues seem to keep getting in the way. An artist I know set out on a project to make a drawing a day as a way to deal with these problems. I've decided to use a Flip camera and iMovie to make one short video sketch a day. Some narrative, some not, hopefully some interesting. We'll see what happens when there are no excuses.
Did you see the Life in a Day project?

The filmmakers are asking every/anyone to film themselves on Sat July 24 (tomorrow) and give it to them to edit (if they so choose) into a larger film.
I think I will dust off my video cam.
You should totally participate! (If you want to.)
I did see that notice and am planning on doing something. I don't have the really good camera this weekend, but hope I can do something with the FLIP.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're doing it too. Sounds like an interesting project.
My efforts turned out poorly, partly because the camera lens had pollen on it from the last time I used it (I'd been shoving it into flowers to try to catch pure color), and I didn't realize it.
ReplyDeleteBut it was so much fun recording a day I might do it again, just for myself.
I like how projects like that push me to do things I might not otherwise.
I wasn't all that happy with mine either, but it did force me out of the house and actually doing something, which was good. It just seemed too pathetic to stay home, even though it was nearly 100 degrees that day.
ReplyDeleteI still need to upload the few clips that did turn out okay.
