I'm in a funk and need to get out. I have no problem watching a movie a day, but find it more and more difficult to get my video projects done. Work or scheduling issues seem to keep getting in the way. An artist I know set out on a project to make a drawing a day as a way to deal with these problems. I've decided to use a Flip camera and iMovie to make one short video sketch a day. Some narrative, some not, hopefully some interesting. We'll see what happens when there are no excuses.

6.3.11 – CraterCincinnati
Ohio voted to allow casinos, after being urged that they shouldn't let their money go to Indiana -- the closest state with gaming. Cincinnati's proposed casino was slated to open across the street from my boyfriend's condo. Neither of us was excited about it. I was especially concerned about increased traffic, less parking, and more crime, but thanks to Ohio's Republican governor, it looks like I don't have to worry anymore. Governor Kasich decided that Ohio got a bad deal with the casino owners and wants to renegotiate things. Well, this has caused the developers to stop construction, not order steel, and now to remove their crane. All that's left is their Christo-esque black fabric draping and a huge crater in a former parking lot.
It is a bit ironic that this is being caused by a Republican when Republicans in Washington keep saying we shouldn't increase taxes on businesses because that stops growth. Hmmmm…..
