I'm in a funk and need to get out. I have no problem watching a movie a day, but find it more and more difficult to get my video projects done. Work or scheduling issues seem to keep getting in the way. An artist I know set out on a project to make a drawing a day as a way to deal with these problems. I've decided to use a Flip camera and iMovie to make one short video sketch a day. Some narrative, some not, hopefully some interesting. We'll see what happens when there are no excuses.

6.14.10 – Tunnel Vision
When I did my looking back video last week, focusing the camera on my driver’s side mirror, I wasn’t able to completely watch what I was filming in order to drive the car. I enjoyed the surprise of seeing things I rarely see, as I’m mostly looking in front and not behind while driving. In my own life I tend to dwell either in the past or dream about the future, forgetting all about the now, which of course leads to the future. I wonder if looking off to the sides could put me more in the now?
This is the coolest!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fresca. I travel over bridges pretty much everyday, yet, as the driver, I don't get to see much. I've only been selectively doing this (for safety), but it is nice to see what I'm missing.
